Muslims Finding Christ Through Dreams
Many people, my wife included, view religion of Islam and the Muslim people in particular as violent and unreachable. Nightly broadcasts of militants willing to murder for their religion have categorized Islam as a violent faith, and its followers as murdering peoples. This is unfortuate, as I would hate for people to label Christianity based on the “ministries” of David Koresch or Fred Phelps.
But should we fear a coming Islamic revolution in the US? Is our choice of trying find a way to live together in peace more or less effective than standing up for what we believe?
God has a history of changing non-believers’ hearts. This article just reminds us that this happens today too.
(Quote from Chrisma Mag on-line).
Although it takes a back seat to rumors of war, a tsunami of faith is quietly overtaking the Muslim world. Islamic adherents are laying aside their allegiance to Muhammad to follow Jesus Christ, despite the social ostracism, persecution and possible martyrdom that converts to Christianity face. Propelled by dreams, visions and miracles, this wave of revival is bringing vast numbers of Muslims-some say millions-into God’s kingdom.
Middle East expert Joel Rosenberg believes more Muslims have come to faith in Christ in the last 30 years than at any time in history. “The vast majority of those conversions have happened since 9/11,” he notes.
God has not granted me the opportunity to witness to Muslims per se, but I have seen dialogues posted on the Internet. Seeing how they argue and what they use for logic makes me glad to see that God is doing in their lives what we cannot.
What makes these conversions most amazing is that the people are accepting Christ in some of the most hostile places on Earth. It reminds me of the stories of the early Christians, willing to die for their faith than admit to lies.
It almost makes me wish that the conservative congregation members I serve with would have such faith.
